Color has energy.  Maybe color is energy.  Using a diverse set of materials and processes, these works explore the idea of perceptual energy through a visual experience dictated by color-energy and color-space.  I believe that something as simple as a color, a line, or a form can have a visceral impact on psyche and emotion.  I also know that people don’t recognize their incredible sensitivity as perceptive beings.  By reducing visual elements within my painting to simple geometry and color, I eliminate the distractions that stand between imagery and the perceptive experience, leaving room for a self-aware response that is first visceral, then intellectual.
